      @tanehisicoates Basically he shows Old Testament prophets railed against demand from their audiences that their job was to give hope.

          @tanehisicoates It's a measure of how little we understand OT prophets that we think of prophecy as prediction, either of hope or doom.

            @tanehisicoates Brueggemann says first goal of prophets was to say "wake up and stop dreaming." Short, good book, even if non-religious.
