1. Several times over the last couple of weeks, my @Every3Minutes bot has been locked by Twitter, for reasons still unclear to me.
-
2. The standard message I get when unlocking is that the account may be violating Twitter rules, with a link to this support.twitter.com/articles/18311
-
3. My best guess is that an algorithm is flagging the bot for too many duplicated tweets or repeated links in tweets.
-
4. So I’ve just made some slight adjustments to further vary the links and text of the @Every3Minutes tweets: github.com/wcaleb/everythreeminutes/commit/f753ccbbc8fed5fde2b5d053f5d6f323e7f726c3
-
5. And I’ve added some new docs to the bot from recently digitized Heartman archive at Xavier (h/t @mariarmontalvo) github.com/wcaleb/everythreeminutes/commit/4abaa3ebfd9d915908b6b6b085b909cfbd037678
-
6. I’ve got messages out to @Support to ask what, if any, rules they think @Every3Minutes is violating. In meantime, suggestions welcome.
-
7. @Support @Every3Minutes is widely used by history teachers & has been noticed in @nytimes, @JournAmHist, @Fusion and other places.
-
8. @Support I’m hopeful I can figure out why @Every3Minutes is being locked & continue to publish this cultural & educational resource.
